That's not a 'normal' load, no one tows like that and no cooling systems are designed to work at 100%

Exactly. I mean OF COURSE when they design cars and trucks they ALWAYS make sure the cooling system can only handle 90% or less of the heat the engine creates. It would just make too much sense to aim for 100% or 110% or 125% when its easier to just go for 90% or 80% or hell why not 84.327% that sounds like a good number and should be the benchmark!

Did you know, statistically speaking, that if you make up a statistic that includes a decimal point, that 98.32% of the people will believe it?

I needed a good laugh for Friday

I can see the new Chevy commercial;

The all new Chevy Silverado. With the highest percentage of possible claimed towing capacity in it's class.

Default Engineering safety factors

Most responsible engineers include a safety factor into anything they design. Typically that is a factor something along the line of X+25% and depending on application sometime X+100% of the originally calculated load. Would you ever cross a bridge that had a calculated load of X knowing the engineer designed it for X-n. I don't think so.

Just imagine approaching a bridge with a max load sign of 10 Tons, hell why bother to post a sign. Just save a few taxpayer dollars.

Perhaps GM engineers are hired only if they have a record of ignoring safety factors. Build it and plan on the lawyers to flim-flam the rubes.

That's why they will never hire Chris. His stuff just makes too much sence and is too reliable. If he built a truck it would last for 250,000 miles and never need a reair, ever.

I disagree! If TxC designed it, it would just be getting "broken in" at 250,000 miles!

The picture of the beater reminds me of the 98 3/4 ton i had, it was one tough truck. Did everything ever ask of it and still ran and look good when it got traded.

I can understand why you made this video. I don`t drive a duramax, but I do drive a diesel truck. Years ago I owned a gas truck that overheated even without a load. I bought the truck new & it did it in trafic or any speed below 30 mph. I couldn`t get the dealer to fix it so I just ran it. It would run 260 all day. It never seemed to hurt it but I knew it wasn`t right. After about a year I put a bigger radiator in it & it never ran hot again. Why couldn`t the dealer do this? Because no one made them. I think most dealers are good guys or they wouldn`t still be in busines , but sometimes they need a push. Also I drive a 06 dodge everyday & unless there is a problem all three brand diesel trucks will pull close to the same load without overheating. Just my .02
