My EGT's never got above 1200° (as a matter of fact, they only got that high on the longer grades) the outside temps were 70°-75°. I'm still running the stock exhaust too! My EGT probe is located at the rear of the passenger side exhaust manifold, this installation is shown on another web site called the diesel place, you can find it by doing a search on "the hoot method".

Wow, that's good. It looks like you have a LB7 Duramax, what were your EGT's stock? I see 1350 regularly while pulling stock in my LBZ and I have a 4" turbo back exhaust. My probe is in the same place as yours.

Never checked them stock, however, with the edge on level one, I have reached the 1300 degree warning setting and the 1350 degree back down setting at about the same ambient temperatures. Yes, I do have the LB7, Water temps with the EDGE reached the 230 range while pulling the longer grades on level 1; haven't crossed the same mountain range yet with the Kennedy tune, so I'm not sure of the water temps on that route yet.

Do you think the tire size may be making yours work a little harder?

Wow!! I'm gone for 2 wks and all kinds of replies!! I especially appreciate the real world experience. I'm thinking I don't want to mess with writing programs or seaching for the same with good ones out there from someone with real diesel experience. It probably won't happen tomorrow, but I think this is the way to go.

Thanks, Tom

Sounds like a good fit. I don't think you will be disappointed. Post an update once you get some miles on the tune.

Possibly, but I don't think my numbers are too far out with what I've seen others with LBZ's report.

Still enjoying the Kennedy tune, excellent pulling capability, low EGT's & always at least a 1 MPG increase towing or not.
